What we collect
- Information you provide: name, email, phone, ZIP code, age, household size, household income (for ACA subsidy estimation), tobacco status (for life insurance estimation), tell-us-about-your-situation messages submitted through quote forms.
- Automatically collected: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, time on site, approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies: first-party session cookies for form security; third-party cookies from Google Analytics and our chatbot provider for analytics and bot conversation continuity.
How we use it
- To match you with a licensed insurance agent in our nationwide network who serves your state.
- To provide quotes, plan comparisons, and enrollment assistance.
- To follow up on your inquiry by email or phone.
- To comply with insurance regulatory recordkeeping (TCPA consent retention, agent-of-record documentation).
- To improve our content and site experience based on aggregate analytics.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with:
- The licensed insurance agent assigned to your inquiry. One agent per inquiry — your information is not resold to multiple lead buyers.
- The insurance carrier you choose to enroll with, if you enroll. The carrier needs your information to issue your policy.
- Service providers (email delivery, CRM, analytics) under contractual confidentiality agreements.
- Government regulators when required by law (CMS audits for Medicare-related enrollments, state insurance department requests).
We do not sell your information. We do not resell leads to multiple agents. We do not provide your information to unrelated third parties for their own marketing.
TCPA consent
By submitting your phone number on a quote form, you consent to be contacted by phone, SMS, and email by InsureClicks and the licensed insurance agent assigned to your inquiry, including by automated dialing or pre-recorded messages, for the purpose of providing the requested insurance quote. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Carrier message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of SMS, or call 256-800-4885 to opt out of all contact.
We retain documentation of your consent (form submission timestamp, IP address, page URL, captcha token) as required by federal regulations.
HIPAA
We are not a HIPAA-covered entity. However, when you provide health-related information for an insurance quote, we treat it confidentially and share it only with the licensed agent and carrier necessary to fulfill your request.
GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act)
As insurance professionals, we are subject to GLBA financial privacy requirements. Our information-sharing practices comply with GLBA — we share with affiliates and service providers as needed for the financial product or service you requested, and we do not share for unrelated marketing purposes.
Your rights
- Access — you can request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Correction — you can correct inaccurate information.
- Deletion — you can request deletion, subject to regulatory retention requirements (insurance records typically must be retained for 7+ years per state law).
- Opt-out — you can opt out of marketing communications at any time. State-specific rights apply for California (CCPA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), Connecticut (CTDPA), and Utah (UCPA) residents.
